The most beautiful type of transport will be the ferries. The ferry terminal is found in Circular Quay, which also used to be a maritime port hundreds of years ago. The ferries can take you across the Sydney Harbour and may pass through the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. You can also see the Rocks. A popular stopover is the Manly Beach.
Trains have different routes and schedules. There’s the airport link or the City Hopper that passes through the domestic and international terminals of Sydney Airport and stops within the railway stations of the City Circle. They operate from 5 in the morning until midnight all days of the week.
Within the CBD you can ride the Monorail. Because of its short route, it can get you to your destination at a short amount of time. The rail leaves every three to five minutes from its stop or station. The more comprehensive one is called the Light Rail. It covers Chinatown, Darling Harbour, the fish markets, and Wentworth Park to name a few. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Light Rail also boasts of being the newest mode of transport system in the city. When you want to have more options of where to go, you can board the CityRail. They offer several kinds of passes or tickets. There are also trains that pass through within states.
Taxis are definitely more expensive than rails, buses, and ferries. However, you are assured you can get to your destination at the shortest amount of time. It’s also easy to obtain a taxi. You can request one from your hotel concierge or drop by the Town Hall and Wynward Station.
