Whether you are looking to spend an active weekend walking the many popular bushwalking tracks available in Blackheath, wandering the lovely antique shops and cafes or just chilling out you will find Blackheath is the perfect getaway.
For a long time, Blackheath has been one of the hotspots in the Blue Mountains. Considered the highest point in the Blue Mountains, it still has a pristine and unspoilt quality about it which makes it unique from the other areas in the Blue Mountains.
No doubt one of the most popular cafes in Blackheath is in The Old Victory Theatre. There you will find the old theatre is now an establishment full of antiques for sale (sometimes you will find some great bargains) with the cafe set up at the front of the building.
However there are a number of other cafes in Blackheath, as well as restaurants and, of course, in the very typical Australian way, you will find a couple of very busy pubs, offering good food and accommodation also.
If your intention is to fit in a number of the many popular bush walks, you will find you will need at least a two day stay.
If you decide to stay overnight some of the properties will allow a one night only stay, although be aware that most will require a 2 night stay minimum.
No doubt once you arrive, soon you will discover the pace you wish to keep. Quite often guests will book for 1 or 2 nights and will then extend according to the desire and interests of the group.
You may wish to just go to the Blue Mountains for the day (after all, Blackheath is only about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Sydney’s CBD), however if you decide to stay for 1 night or longer, there are many different holiday homes to suit your group.
From a lovely 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom budget timber home for only $250 per night (up to 13 people) and located only a minutes walk to the Blackheath Village to luxury holiday homes with outstanding views which will charge depending on the amount of people staying.
A mid-range property with gorgeous gardens, 3 bathrooms with spas and sauna will charge out of season only $400 for up to 6 people. If you are intending to visit Jenolan Caves of Zig-Zag Railway at Lithgow, Blackheath is a base from which to explore these other spots. Without a doubt Blackheath is one of the last unspoilt and pristine spots left in the Blue Mountains.
