1. You can suggest to them to follow you on your Social Networking Site (MySpace or Facebook) if they try to unsubscribe from your email marketing campaigns.
Many people think that email marketing materials clog their inbox and would want lesser communication. They sure will be okay with Twitter or Facebook. Another option is to suggest to them a lower frequency email if in case they want to unsubscribe from your mailing list.
2. True one-click unsubscribe
Make sure that you always include a one-click unsubscribe link. Don’t let them login your page; find the account page and the likes. If you’ll make this a hard process, they will simply filter all emails coming from you and you don’t want this as this harbors hate against your company.
You may want to put the unsubscribe link on the top or your email marketing material. Keep in mind that quality reigns over quantity. You’d rather have a few people who are truly interested in your emails rather than having big list of people who don’t care.
3. Save these people at the Unsubscribed
You can ask your user the reason why they are unsubscribing from your email marketing list. After which, offer a list of solution that they could choose from. Then save them to your database of people who unsubscribed.
4. You may offer to pause your email marketing delivery instead of them trying to unsubscribe right off the bat
You can tell them that you can pause the delivery for a month, 3 or 6 months. This way you’re giving them a breather from your regular emails.

You may want to include in your email an apology and ask for feedback on how you can improve for the future. It’s sad to let go of people without having a good fight. You must acknowledge the fact that it will take time before people become aware of your service, visit your site or sign up. It’s easier to keep your mailing list intact rather than finding new ones.
