Brighton Le Sands is located in Southern Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. This suburb is located in proximity to Botany Bay. The popular tourist destinations such as Cook Park and Lady Robinsons Beach are located in Brighton-Le-Sands. The beach is also known as Brighton Beach. Bay Street is a commercial centre in the city where several tourists and locals visits every day. This area has heavy traffic due to the presence of the tourist destinations and commercial centre. Hence, parking vehicles at peak time is the greatest problem faced by both tourists and locals.
The main shopping area in Brighton Le Sands is situated along the Bay Street which extends up to The Grand Parade and Moate Avenue. Several restaurants and cafes are located in Bay Street and The Grand Parade where you can eat different types of cuisines such as Greek, French, Italian, Japanese, Thai, Italian, and European. Various shops and services are there in Brighton. Public transport is very little in this area as Sydney Buses have a single hourly service which runs a long distant from Sydney CBD to Rockdale station. Other buses are Route No: 303, X03, 478, and 479 that run via Brighton Le ands.
Since the availability of public transport is less, both tourists and locals have to depend on taxi services or their own vehicles. Hence, people visiting Brighton Le Sands are facing parking problems. To solve this problem, innovative solutions have to be found. The people in this area are trying to implement different programs and policies to use the parking resources efficiently. Traditional planning of parking facility is focusing only on the quantity of vehicles. Instead of focusing only on the quantity, the parking management has to focus on quality of parking facilities such as obtaining information on parking, safety and convenience of walking from the parking space to the destination and the security of the parking lot.
Presently, planning of providing parking facilities is inefficient because of the inefficient management. Parking regulations have to be accurate depending on the demographic as well as geographic factors. The parking facilities can be improved by implementing plans for overflow parking, using off-site facilities for parking, and improving the facilities for cycling and walking. Strict enforcement of parking regulations enables the locals to deal with the parking problems. Parking problems have to be solved to encourage more and more tourists to this suburb in Sydney. Creating a campaign to solve the parking problems in Brighton Le Sands will be helpful to make a better Brighton.
If the local residents will continue to work for a better Brighton for future generations, then Brighton Le Sands will remain as a popular tourist destination for years to come.
