Epping is a major player in the quest for land in Melbourne’s burgeoning north.
Situated in the City of Whittlesea its flourishing neighbours include Craigieburn, Lalor, Mernda, Mill Park, South Morang and Wollert.
“Buy land, because they’re not making any more of it” is an adage that has buyers eyeing off Epping, which is only 22kms from the Melbourne CBD. Two land estates attracting a high volume of interest in Epping are Aurora and Lyndarum.
Developed by Places Victoria, Aurora is a sustainable development, with 11 builders offering energy-efficient homes on site to choose from. It comprises 135 hectares of parks and open spaces, and 20kms of walking, bike and exercise paths.
Currently, “Places Victoria” is selling its Bluestone Precinct, with lot sizes ranging from 300sqm to 695sqm, at its Aurora display village. Already Aurora provides a family-friendly environment with tennis and basketball courts for the sports minded, and a general store and café.
Developed by AVJennings, Lyndarum is now selling its Ursini release. In all, 21 lots ranging from 313sqm to 512sqm with lot frontages from 12.5m to 16m. And these lots are available from just $179,950.
To dangle the carrot even further, a $10,000 rebate is being offered if these lots are sold and settled by September 28 this year.
And if that’s not enough incentive, part of the development blueprint for Lyndarum is a $6m Family & Children’s Service centre. It will comprise two registered kindergarten rooms (capacity – 66 children), outdoor play spaces, two maternal and child health consulting rooms, and general amenities. Completion is scheduled for late next year, with initial preschool enrolments in 2014.
Both these developments have the luxury of quality shopping, excellent medical services, choice of education, and peace of mind on transport.
For instance the Epping Plaza shopping centre is only 500 metres from the Epping train station, and the Northern hospital adjoins it.
Several government and private schools in Epping include St Monica’s College, Mill Park SC, Epping SC, and Lalor North SC. Primary schools include Epping PS, Epping Views, Greenbrook, Meadow Glen, and St Peter’s.
Epping is renowned for its superb amenities ranging from sporting clubs and recreational facilities to the library and community centre.
There is easy access to the city, around 35 minutes away, via major freeways and arterials. Public transport includes buses and trains (Epping railway station has an estimated 39-minute peak travel time to Melbourne.)
