I thought I knew everything about internet marketing.
I have spent many years building websites and doing search engine optimization (SEO) and I have been very successful in getting good ranking on Google and other search engines for many hotel sites that I have been promoting.
I have always loved the internet marketing side but today I realize that my knowledge is not enough to be able to build an online business.
I took the decision to stop running hotels and resorts about a year ago to focus on being a consultant for hotels that could need my 29 years of knowledge and experience in the hotel business. Quickly I found out that I would love to set up my online business and make money from the internet and at the same time help other people to learn how to do the same thing. I thought this would be easy, but I was very wrong.
It is all about the system.
Search engine optimization is all about keywords and links to get a good ranking on search engines. Although this will always be important, there is a totally different game to play if you want to have an online business. It is all about the system and driving traffic to your site and bringing high quality content in a very honest way.
It is not necessary to pay for the traffic but you certainly must know how to drive traffic correctly from social media marketing, article marketing, forum marketing and video marketing. As I said, driving traffic to your site is important but the system behind your website is much more important for success.
All you see up front is a web page which most of the time is just a single page with an offer and an opt-in form, asking for your name and email address. This little page is the tiny top of an iceberg hiding behind the page. If you learn the system and how things can be set up, you have the opportunity to be very successful and wealthy. Successful internet marketers and gurus spend years of learning and testing to get the back-end of the site running properly and mostly on auto pilot.
I failed so many times in internet marketing.
I want you to understand that to be successful online you must learn first and then build up your business. The reason why over 95% of all internet marketers fail, is because they have been told to buy a “Push Button” solution to get rich quickly. They try it and fail. They go to the next offer and fail again until they finally give up after spending loads of money. I tell you this because I am one of them.
I failed so many times that I finally decided to get help. Honestly, today I know that it is almost impossible to be successful in internet marketing without having a coach. Every big guy and guru out there have their own coach. It doesn’t matter how small or big you are, you need to have someone guiding you to your next level if you don’t want to spend years struggling.
I am new to this game and I haven’t made my first sale yet, but for the first time in years I am totally confident in what I am doing and failure is not an option anymore. If you want to be in this game, do yourself a favor to get it straight from the beginning. Pay a good mentor, not an unserious marketer who want to sell you some get rich quick rubbish.
