“The money is in the list.” You’ve heard that a thousand times. And it is absolutely true; the money is in the list. Question is, “What’s the best way to create the list?” Should you use your company’s lead capture system? Or, should you create your own?
If you’ve read any of my previous articles, I advocate marketing yourself first. That simply means that people who are interested in your particular company or product, once they are sold on the concept, are then looking for the person that can truly help them become successful.
The problem with lead capture systems is that everyone in your company is using them. So, conservatively, if your company has 10,000 representatives, and most of them are all using the same lead capture system, how do you stand out? Why would anyone pick you as the person who will lead them to network marketing success?
The top earners in your company are top earners because they stand out
Let’s delve into the mind of your target market. Let’s assume that they already made the decision to join your company. As I mentioned, their next question is, “Who can lead me to success?” What top earners in every company are doing is standing out from everyone else. They are positioning themselves as successful leaders. They also use lead capture systems, but they use them on their sites, usually, their own personal blog sites.
So, as the prospects are looking for who can help them become network marketing success story, they come across these leaders that market themselves, and leave no doubt in the prospects mind that they can and will help them succeed. Who does the prospect sign up with? Those leaders that stand out. All the while, you are marketing the same lead capture site everyone else is marketing, and wondering why you are not getting any results, while the top income earners are sponsoring 50 – 100 people every month.
What’s the solution? Copy the leaders. Do what they do. Create your own personal blog site that features you, that tells the world what you have to offer, and find creative ways to create a lead capture system that will fill your sales funnel.
Some may be thinking, “Mike that all makes sense, BUT I don’t have the slightest idea on how to create a blog site, or my own lead capture system. What do I do now?” Great question, and here is my answer, “You find a way to learn what you need to learn in order to be successful.” Creating blogs and lead capture systems is not hard at all. Learning new skills is what we call personal development.
With today’s technology, you can become an expert, literately in minutes. If you feel you are absolutely clueless, nothing to be embarrassed about. I encourage you to call me. I can get you up and running in 30 minutes, 45 minutes tops. Or, simply find someone you know that can help you.
The bottom line is that if you want to sponsor like the top earners, you need to market like the top earners. These top earners are not marketing the same lead capture system that everyone else is. They are creating their own. They are not marketing someone else’s video’s, they are creating their own videos. They are not pushing the company products first, they are marketing themselves first.
Let’s pretend that you became daring enough to get on the phone with me and ask me to show you how to do this. An hour later, you now have a new skill. You’ve grown quite quickly in just an hour. The advantage you now have is that you can create your own lead capture system that is unique to you. You are still marketing yourself, you are still marketing your company and its product line, but you are doing it in a way where you stand out. You are now perceived as a leader within your company simply because you took the time and effort to do things that are unique to you.
Most people gravitate toward the simple answer. “Pay $19.95 and I have my own website and a complete lead capture system.” That rarely works long term. In reality, the only one that really makes money there is the lead capture system creator. Maybe, once a new lead capture website is initially released, and it hasn’t circulated much, some may get results, but that soon wears off as more and more people use it. Eventually, people become immune to the same message. Hasn’t that happened to you?
But, what happens when you see a new site marketing a product that has been around before? Don’t you stop, even if you know you are not interested, you stop to check out the new message, don’t you? I know it has happened to me before.
And that is the other advantage. When you acquire the ability to create your own lead capture sites, you can have several capture sites working for you. You can test different sites. You can change the look and feel of your sites, all at the drop of a hat. That is what the top earners are doing. You should be doing it too. Doing that creates impact, draws attention, and greatly increases your chances of getting new, ready-to-sign-up leads.
