There are several reasons why people blog. I initially launched my site as an author platform.

But as time went on, I understood that my blog offered much more than a platform for authors and that it wasn’t only about the traffic. Another, more significant reason for blogging. I even think it has altered the way I view and conduct my life. For more information alejakobiecosci

Because of this, I’d strongly suggest launching a blog if you’re considering doing so. If you blog for the appropriate reasons, that is.

Don’t bank on it if you want to create a blog in order to get wealthy or even just to make ends meet. These days, monetizing a blog is really difficult. In reality, despite blogging for three years, I’m still not profitable. By the way, ignore the marketing hype from those trying to sell you online courses and persuade you that blogging is a fantastic method to get passive income. There is no doubt that creating and advertising a blog requires a lot of work. Nothing about it is passive.

In truth, it’s very simple to become frustrated when starting a blog. As a person who struggles with technology, I had to learn WordPress. Then, I put a lot of effort into promoting my site and seeking out readers. Something more, I didn’t know much about. Like most bloggers, I rapidly developed an obsession with statistics, including how many readers, subscribers, and Facebook fans I had at any one time. It turns out that increasing a blog’s popularity requires a LOT of time, work, and persistence.

Why Blog, then?

Although others may disagree, I believe that blogging should be about more than just making money, generating business, building a sizable following, pursuing fame, or attempting to sell books.

A creative way to express ideas, thoughts, opinions, beliefs, and feelings is through blogging. Additionally, blogging offers a tremendous opportunity to uplift and positively impact the lives of others.

The Impact of Blogging on My Life

The past few years have been full of ups and downs, but my blog has definitely been there for me. I’ve written about happy occasions like a weekend getaway with my kids to San Francisco, a quick trip to Chicago to celebrate our anniversary, a day spent playing in the snow with my grandchildren, and seeing Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones at Desert Trip.

I also wrote about my mother’s eventual passing while providing care for my mother, who had Lewy Body dementia. When my mother-in-law passed away from ovarian cancer and my son went through a traumatic divorce and custody battle that same year, I shared my angst with others. (Ironically, I experienced my worst year of my life right after I began writing a blog about happiness.)

Yes, I enjoy reading, which offers a pleasant distraction from my problems, but my true escape, creative outlet, and passion is writing. I lose track of my troubles for a bit when I’m writing, which gives me a much-needed break. In fact, if you’re a true writer, I’ll bet you’re addicted to it for the rest of your life!

Writing down my thoughts and feelings has made me feel better and allowed me to revisit joyful times.

As I’ve written about my life, my blog has assisted me in reflecting on my values and assessing the course of my life.

Because I am limited in what I can write about, blogging serves as a kind of filter that helps me to make sense of my life. My blogs have aided in my understanding of what matters to me most. Along the road, I’ve learned that sometimes the most straightforward experiences are the ones that bring me the most joy.

Accepting Originality

My blog allows me fantastic creative freedom to express myself as a professional writer. I don’t want to burst anyone’s bubble, but writing seems more glamorous than it actually is. I’ve published articles on topics that magazines, newspapers, publishers, and clients have chosen for me to write about for the majority of the last 25 years.

It’s true that I’ve written two young adult books, travel articles, witty writing, and entertaining feature stories about interesting people. On the other side, I’ve also produced pieces that bored me to tears in order to make a living. I’ve read technical articles and one technical book that drove me crazy and gave me an Excedrin headache. I’ve written on demand, fulfilling deadlines set by others, and wrote well into the night when my brain is frantically trying to shut down.

Don’t misunderstand me. Even though it sounds whiny, I know how lucky I am to have found a career doing what I love. Nothing else would have been better for me.

My blog is my child, that’s the point. I hope my audience will love the topics I write about because they are ones I am interested in and am passionate about. My blog enables me to develop as a writer, explore, try new things, and experiment whenever the urge strikes. I have the discipline to produce a blog every week thanks to my work as a professional writer, but I write my blogs whenever I want. And trust me, that’s not at first light or after midnight! That is extravagant.

Therefore, there are a few ways blogging has improved my life. But as I already said, blogging has the enormous benefit of having the power to positively impact the lives of others.

It always makes me so happy when people leave me comments saying that I in some tiny way inspired them or gave them helpful knowledge. It has been incredibly satisfying to connect with readers and other writers through blogging.

What types of blogs have gained the most traction? It’s always intriguing to see what strikes a chord and resonates. My list of the 10 most popular blogs includes:

  1. Five Ways to Develop a Positive Attitude

This is by far my best-performing blog each year. Happy-go-lucky is characterised by Merriam-Webster as being blithely carefree and indifferent. A few synonyms are kind, relaxed, unhurried, and mellow. I suppose we would all like some of it!

  1. The Golden Boys: Bobby Rydell, Frankie Avalon, and Fabian in Concert

The autobiography of Bobby Rydell was given to me to review. As a result, Rydell received a backstage access, an interview, and complimentary tickets to his Golden Boys show with Frankie Avalon and Fabian. This was a great benefit of blogging! My website’s daily views surged by 3000 percent the day after Rydell’s Facebook page shared my concert review. The truth!

  1. Continue Laughing with the Menopause Seven Dwarfs

Since I started blogging, this site has consistently ranked in the top three. Hey, with menopause, it’s either laugh or cry, and wouldn’t we all rather laugh?

  1. Remaining upbeat despite difficulties

I’m not surprised that this blog made the top ten because everyone experiences issues that make us feel helpless and discouraged. I propose three straightforward suggestions for how we might manage our perspective and yet decide to be joyful in the face of difficulties.

  1. What Are the Best Times in Your Life?

What happiest memories come to mind when you reflect on your life? What mistakes would you most regret? Participants in one study who were 70 years or older were asked that question. In this blog, I present the outcomes of their thoughtful responses.

Why Older People Are Happier Than Baby Boomers, Reason No. 6

My very first blog, which launched my site, is so sweet. Studies that suggest older individuals, and even the younger generation, are generally happier than us baby boomers served as the inspiration for this site. According to one study, there is a U-shaped happiness curve, with the early 50s marking the lowest point.

  1. As simple as 1-2-3 and happy

“My ideal day would be one filled with countless opportunities for joy, discovery, and beauty to be experienced, discovered, and expressed. And what about that? Both you and I can, “I typed. After the Rydell concert review, this article’s discovery on StumbleUpon gave me my second-highest day visitor total ever.

  1. Maintaining Happiness During Menopause

After being hired by Hot Flash Daily to provide hilarious articles about menopause to help launch their new website, I created this piece. I had a ball writing humour for them even though I had never done it before. The excruciating hot flashes, crazy insomnia, bothersome forgetfulness, and crazy panic episodes that followed for years, I cheerfully told it all. Indeed, years!

  1. Discovering Joy with Grandchildren

Writing this blog was simple. It is a tremendous treat and privilege to be required and desired by these adorable young individuals. Like many individuals, I discover that as each new grandchild was born, the benefits of family life only grew deeper and more fulfilling.

  1. Five cheery quotes from Snoopy

Okay, this one caught me a little off guard. Don’t we all still like Snoopy, though? I’m impressed by how much knowledge Charles M. Schultz cartoons have on the issue now that I write a blog about happiness.

All of these essays, which people seemed to like reading, were fun for me to write. With that in mind, what general advise would I provide to everyone who is considering blogging? Describe your interests in writing. Let your blog instruct you on how to live. Finally, have fun with the procedure. Afterward, you’ll enjoy blogging as much as I do.
