1. Research is a Must
If you really want to be successful at affiliate marketing you need to do some research. Don’t just jump on any old band wagon. Find out what people are looking for and willing to spend money on. Look for an area that people are talking about and having problems. This is also called a niche. You want a product that will solve their problems.
2. Create Your Own Blog or Website
Most really successful affiliate marketers never send their traffic directly to the merchants sales page. They use what is called a landing page or pre-sell page. By doing this they can warm the prospect up to their product and make it much easier to get the sale. You can do the same thing by setting up a free blog at blogger or a webpage at Squidoo. These are both free and work very well for this type of sales generation.
Setting up your own blog also gives you the flexibility to add what you want and become an authority on your niche. Just don’t forget to update your blog at least once a week if not more.
3. Traffic, Traffic and More Traffic
The best affiliate marketing tip I can give you is to drive tons of traffic to your site. You really want targeted traffic which is the best since they would have an interest in what you are offering. The best free method of driving targeted traffic to your site is article marketing.
Article marketing is easy and anyone can do it with just a little knowledge and practice. If you can send an email to a friend of yours then you can write a 300-500 word article about your niche. All you really need is about a 6th grade level of understanding the English language.
Your goal as an article marketer is to write interesting and helpful articles that will make the reader want more information so that they will click your link within your resource box at the end of your article. This is where you would send them to your blog or website. This is how you create traffic and sales.
