In order to start making money with affiliate marketing there are certain things that one must have and do in order to succeed. If you are looking to start your own business on the internet these four elements can’t be overlooked.
I believe there are four essentials elements for someone who is new to affiliate marketing. They are:
Domain Name
Web Host
Email Address
Affiliated Marketing Program
Let’s go into each of these in a bit more detail.
Domain Name
Most domain names cost around $10- $12. A good way to look at a domain name as real estate or land. Once you buy it, it is yours to do with it what. You can “build” anything you want on your land, any way that you want to or you can choose not to “build” anything at all. It’s your choice.
Don’t spend too much time in choosing a domain name, but if you are going to market in a certain niche you want to choose a name that’s applicable. Otherwise, be creative and just get started.
Web Hosting
According to Wikipedia a web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. In other words it’s a place to “park” your website. The fee for hosting services varies anywhere from free to highly expensive, depending on the needs of the individual or company. Try to find a hosting service that cost less than $10 a month, but that includes other services, such as email and a web-site builder of some sort. If you choose to join an affiliate marketing program, they usually provide the hosting service for you.
Email service
Email is an essential tool for affiliate marketing. It is one of the key methods for driving traffic back to your site. You can offer updates, newsletters, etc. on your website to the potential customer by having them provide you with their email address. A list of emails or interested, potential buyers is created and whether or not they purchase from your site the first time visiting it, now you have a way to contact them with further offers or other ways to have them return to your website.
Blogging
A Blog is a part of a website or it can be the entire website itself. It is an easy way to set up or establish a website for your affiliate marketing business. Posts are usually made weekly, sometimes more, sometimes less. It’s up to you. The entry or post should be relevant to the company or product you are marketing. Images can be uploaded to your blog and typically it is set up so that others can leave “comments”. “Links” are used to connect to other blogs and mainly to connect to the company and/or service and product you are marketing.
Affiliate Marketing Program
Maybe you are asking why you need a “program”. For someone just starting out with little or no experience, I believe this is the MOST important element for success is a good affiliate marketing program. Face it, there are hundreds if not thousands of companies on the internet offering marketers the opportunity to make money. You can buy your domain name, set up your own website or blog with a hosting service, but if you don’t know what to do after that all your previous efforts are fruitless.
You can research for days, even weeks, trying to find companies to market for, finding out if they have an affiliate program, contacting the companies, sign up and then wait to see if they accept you and your website to offer their product or services. So then you put their link on your website, but then what?
There is an easier way that is less time-consuming and less frustrating too. You can get an affiliate marketing program that will virtually set you up in business, provide the products and services for you, and even train you. I think that training is the most essential part, especially if you are just starting out.
