One of the most common issues with network marketing is that people don’t want to do the traditional “pitch to everyone” approach. Many people go down that road, but the conclusion that I came to was that there had to be a way to find people who are looking for independent business opportunities. I just didn’t know how to find them. Once I had this idea in my head, I started to look for network marketing consultants, focusing on people who have been in network marketing before, with the idea that I could find someone to teach me how to build my business without relying on my family and friends. On one of these calls, I was talking to a former business partner of one of my friends and he introduced me to the idea of attraction marketing. The simple idea is that you attract people to you that are looking for solutions, provide the training and then a certain portion of those people will join your business. On top of that, they will be well-trained, if you did what you promised, and they can be very productive in your network marketing business. The other upside, is that you aren’t limited to people who you know or that are simply in your immediate area.

The problem comes in into play when you get online looking for training in network marketing, there are people offering the answer all over the place, so how do you know that you are making the right pick?

In my personal situation, the person that suggested I try out attraction marketing, was referred to me by someone who I trusted, so when he brought it up to me, there was no doubt in my mind that at least I wasn’t getting scammed. Based on this, I felt good about trying it out and seeing if it was right for me. So the question becomes, how do you get people who don’t personally know you to trust that you are not scamming them and that the solutions you are providing them are really going to help them?

1) You have to really not be scamming them! It is inherent in any network marketing business that many people will have the impression that you are trying to make a buck by taking advantage of them. It is fine for you to make money from the training you provide them, and it can even provide more value to attach a dollar amount to it rather than having it all for free, but your end system has to set them up for success. I personally like to do this by providing information (phone calls, videos, etc…) to people when they join my team that help to guide them into the introduction portion of the training and also letting them know what to expect. To me it isn’t enough just to sign them on for the training, you want them to be successful. Remember the whole premise of providing the training is to get a portion of them to eventually join your team, and if they are looking online, they are likely to be very aware of how hard it is to find quality training. If you disappear once you sell them on your training, what do you think the chances of signing them up in you primary business are?

2) Make the call! It is essential that you call the person and find out what they are looking for, why they were looking for network marketing solutions in the first place and you can’t forget the value of finding out about them personally!

3) Show them value upfront! I personally think that if you give someone a free sample of what you are going to offer them, it goes a long way to displaying that you have something real to offer to separate yourself from all the other network marketing consultants out there. I like to do this by giving free training videos that show the them the types of tools they have at their disposal if they join my team.

In my opinion, the call is King! If you can become great on the phone (really just learning how to ask questions), you can create amazing business partnerships, and even if they don’t sign up for anything, you have a resource that you can always come back to if you need it, and you never know when they may come knocking on your door.
