If you’ve been around the block for a while, you might have come across one of my articles on the Internet. Many people have told me they found me online through one of the pieces I wrote. Why is that? Because I have written and submitted over 3800 articles online in just one niche, so if you’ve been researching the niche, there is a good chance you will come across me.
There is a lesson to be gained here – quantity increases your market share! Yes, you definitely want quality articles as well, but don’t ignore quantity. Too many people spend all their time focused on writing literary masterpieces but end up ignoring the end goal with articles – which is to create traffic and educate. Get the points across, and most people will like you for the information you have shared.
The article directory that I use the most is EzineArticles. From my testing in my early days, I would submit articles to hundreds of directories, either manually or using article submitters. But the truth is the bulk of your traffic will come from EzineArticles. You can get some traffic from other directories, but the majority of your visitors will come from this one directory.
Also, remember that articles are merely tools – tools for informing and driving traffic. They don’t directly result in marketing profits. How you monetize your articles is also crucial in whether you succeed. There are many ways to make money – AdSense, blogging, affiliate marketing, list building etc. The best way I have found to leverage articles many times over is to build a list – because you are building a database of clients that is yours, and is not affected whether a search engine algorithm changes or you lose one traffic source. Your list will always be yours.
