Attraction Marketing. Don’t just think of MLM (Multi level marketing) or network marketing. Because it’s so effective it’s been adopted by all type of online marketing and is one of the best ways to get long term customers for your business.

Attraction marketing is all about giving exceptional value to your customers so they come back to you again and again.

But are you doing it all wrong?

Here’s some mistakes you could be making and how to rectify them.

No Personal Web Presence

Because attraction marketing is about, well, attracting people to you, you need to have a personal web presence. People buy the person not the product and all that sort of thing. The best way to achieve this is to have a blog, preferably with your name as the url.

But don’t make the mistake of making it all corporate and just about your business. Inject some personality into it and let your prospects know a bit about what’s most important to them. You!

The other nice thing is a blog can’t be taken away from you. Don’t put all your eggs into one basket and bank on Social Media or any other type of marketing as being your ticket to unlimited traffic and customers. Accounts can and do get shut down, but your blog is yours to keep, so look after it!

Using Social Media The Wrong Way

Lets face it – the temptation when you’ve got a big list of followers is to try and sell as much to them as you can, because you don’t really know them, they’re just a number to you. But take an example from the real world. You walk into a department store, cosmetics are always the first department you see. And a shop assistant always comes up and asks if you’d like to try this perfume (or aftershave for the men out there!). They don’t know you, but they are trying to form some rapport, however small before they sell to you.

Do the same thing with your followers. Give them a sample of your product. Tell them about yourself. Show them how to do something that your product can make easier for them.

Give them some value so they’ll come back to you again and again, or at least listen to what you’ve got to say.

Being In Customers Faces

Attraction marketing is more gentle persuasion than hard selling. If you’re constantly in your customers face, trying to ram your products down their throat they’re going to go elsewhere, and in rather a hurry. Take time to build up a relationship with them, and although it will take longer, the benefits will be much greater.

There’s still plenty of room for more conventional forms of marketing, and some companies will swear by them. However for small online businesses attraction marketing is a seriously effective tool for generating prospects and leads and retaining customers.
