This is the power utility company that supplies electricity to all the households in the Greater Manila Area. While there are occasional power outages, your Manila real estate rental property will receive a steady supply of power on a regular basis. The only time that you can expect to be in the dark is during events such as strong tropical storms (typhoons) that occur from June until November. For those fortunate to live in a Manila that has their own backup generator, then a power interruption will not be much of a problem.
The third utility is a phone line. If you invest in Philippine real estate, make sure that the property has provisions for phone lines. Having a phone line is useful in emergency situations, such as someone in your home getting sick and you need to call the hospital or a fire breaking out in your kitchen and you have to get in touch with the local fire department right away. These are unforeseen events that make having a phone line important.
The fourth utility is an internet connection, which goes hand in hand with the phone line. The major phone utility company, PLDT, is one of the leading suppliers of DSL, or Digital Subscriber Line capability. With this technology, internet data are easily transmitted over a regular phone line. There are also some cable TV companies that offer this type of internet service. Whatever you choose, make sure your Manila real estate property has a reliable connection that will allow you to keep in touch with your family and friends in your home country.
The last utility is cable television, but this is already being overtaken by the internet as the fastest source of news and other important information. Cable television, however, provides you with a great form of entertainment after you have spent a long day at the office or you want to give your kids a break.
Once you have made a decision to rent or invest a Philippine real estate living space, make sure that it comes with these key utilities. Without them, you will just be giving yourself a headache trying to find reliable providers that can get you these basic services.
