Beautiful Sydney

Sydney Australia – one of the most picturesque cities in the world. Known for the famous architectural design of the Opera House, Sydney has that and much more to offer the visiting explorer. In the CBD, the city is filled with shops, boutiques, business centers and hotels. Hotel accommodation is available throughout Sydney – for the backpackers and for the luxury hotel lovers. We’ll now take you on a journey of one of the most popular cities when you begin to explore this popular ‘Down Under’ city.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

It would be icing on the cake if you just visit it to take photos on the outside. Near to the Opera House you can easily walk to the Harbour Bridge. If you’re very adventurous, you can choose to do the spectacular Harbour Bridge Climb or simply do the Pylon Walk, which is a lot cheaper but will also give you a good view of The Opera House, Circular Quay and the Sydney Harbour. It’s best to explore the Harbour Bridge on a clear day. While there, you can also see the presentation on how the Harbour Bridge was built.

A Beauty Spot of Sydney – The Royal Botanic Gardens

Australia being a continent in itself because of the unique species found there. So if you’re a plant lover, the Royal Botanic Gardens is a must see. Each morning there are free guided walks where you can see the beautiful landscaping with lawns, trees and ponds. You can also get a beautiful view of the Sydney Harbour from these gardens. While there, don’t forget to visit Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair, which has been carved out of a rock ledge on the eastern side of the gardens.

“Don’t miss the Ferry!”

You can also take the Ferry from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour on the other side. This destination is a popular hangout spot with paved walkways, playgrounds, unique water features and harbor-side eateries. Darling Harbour is a one of the well sought-out places for annual events like New Year’s Eve and Australia Day concerts, filled with lovely fireworks and lighting displays. While there, visit the National Maritime Museum, displaying the old-time canoes to naval vessels.

The Rocks

From Circular Quay if you don’t want to go on the ferry, you can simply take a walk to explore the part of Sydney known as The Rocks. This is a very historic part of central Sydney where the first European settlements began. There you will be welcomed by the rocky cobblestone pathways and roads, which lead to the numerous cafes and restaurants. Between November to February, you can see a lot of ‘night markets’ and concerts at the Rocks. One of the things which make The Rocks so unique in Sydney is the antique Aussie architecture.

Some of Sydney’s Beaches

Sydney is also well-known for it’s beaches. The world-renown Bondi Beach is filled with activity from bathing to surfing to just relaxing at one of the several restaurants along the beach. Another popular beach is Manly. There is a Manly Ferry service from Circular Quay, giving you breath-taking shots of Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. Another popular beach is Palm Beach. It’s less than an hour’s drive from Opera House and it is in the suburb of Northern Beaches. Palm Beach is situated on a peninsula, with white sand, lush green vegetation and blue waters. It is definitely worth the trip.

From the sea to the Mountains

A trip to Sydney would not be complete without a visit to the Blue Mountains. Situated in the quiet town of Katoomba, the Blue Mountains National Park is one of the most popular excursions. You can get there in a few hours by train from Central Station. You can also stay there for 2 days since there is hotel accommodation there. While at the Blue Mountains you can see the Three Sisters – a picturesque natural rock formation. You can take a ride on the Katoomba Scenic Railway and also visit the historic Jenolan Caves – a series of beautiful limestone caves.

Staying and getting around Sydney

When you’re down under, you can be sure to find hotel deals to suit your needs and your budget. There’s a wide variety of hotels, to choose from. Also when travelling, you can get to sites via bus, train and of course the ferry. With all these travelling methods combined you are marked for a fantastic time in the most cosmopolitan cities Down Under!bangkok-motorshow
