Hillcrest in KZN was a small village 10 years ago but as more market developments have been completed over the years it is now a buzzing hive of activity with major retail malls and most large retailers in the area, together with many new Hillcrest restaurants and eateries opening and doing a brisk trade in the area.
There are major roadwork’s and upgrades in the Hillcrest CBD taking place, upgrades are at an advanced stage and completion is expected before the end of 2009, this has had a negative effect on restaurants in Hillcrest during the construction upgrade.

A new mall is planned for development in old main road this should add a greater selection to the choice of places to eat and other entertainment outlets in Hillcrest.
Many of the older Hillcrest Restaurants specialize in breakfasts, teas and lunches and do not opening in the evenings.
