I’m sure you’ve heard about how great article marketing is. You can create traffic to any website whatsoever, and best of all, it won’t cost you a penny! All you need to do is to write a bunch of articles and get them published on a directory like EzineArticles. Well, if you can write, that’s easy. It’s just a matter of sitting at your computer and typing, but…what if you can’t write?
You can still be an article marketing pro. Let me tell you how.
If you can’t write, you have basically two choices, hire someone to write your articles for you or learn to write yourself.
Hiring someone is not as hard as it might seem. There’s a whole unseen world of writers churning out ezine style articles for article directories and web copy. To have someone write an article for you will cost anywhere from $4 per article on the low side to $10 per article. You probably could even strike a volume deal with a writer, once you got to know them and the quality of their work.
The quality of these articles varies a lot. For $4 per article, you can get an article that might not read like Shakespeare, but will definitely do the job. For $10 per article, you can expect a much more writerly article.
The only issue is that you need to be thinking in terms of publishing hundreds of these article in a directory for a given website that you really want to promote. So, at $4 per article, you would be spending $400 to $800 for website marketing expenses. Sounds expensive? Not if your website is a real money maker. You’ll recoup that expense in your first month!
If money is a problem, then you’re left with writing your articles yourself.
Now, you might be saying to yourself. “I can’t write!” Well that’s actually what your high school English teacher told you, but I bet that’s not really true.
You’ve got a few things on your side when writing on the web. For one thing, people expect a much more conversational style on the web than they do in print…in a magazine, for instance. I’ve read perfectly good articles with lots of great information in them written by people who obviously weren’t native English speakers.
On the web, people are looking first and foremost for information. If you know a lot about a certain topic that others are interested in, people will forgive you your not so perfect grammar. With spell check you should be able to get most of the words correctly spelled. You might mix up “there” and “their”, but actually that’s not the big deal you might think it is. Remember, the Internet is an information medium. Provide people with the information they crave, and they’ll beat a digital path to your door–or website!
