Last year, many internet marketers were excited about article marketing. They would tell you that this internet marketing tool was the best in terms of traffic-generation and product promotion. They’ll also tell you that it’s the most sought-after tool in promoting easy recall and in building great reputation in the online arena. But how’s article marketing after panda update? Some say, it’s the end of article marketing.

Early this year, Google’s “panda” update was launched. Most internet marketers believed that it was implemented to target farm sites which may or may not include article directories. True enough, article marketing sites, even those that are considered reputable were some of the hardest hit of this update. Some of them lost in the game of page ranking. So, does this mean panda update meant the instant death of article marketing?

Well, the answer is no. The goal of the update is to actually eliminate poor, spammy content in the World Wide Web to better serve online users. Google obviously wanted to give internet visitors the most relevant, most useful pages each time they search keywords using the search engines. If you’ve distributed nothing but high quality content, you’ve got nothing to worry, and in fact, based on my stats, I haven’t been affected at all.

In fact, I believe that reputable article marketers can get MORE traffic now from articles than from before; the key is writing good content for people, not robots, and only posting it once online.

If your article marketing campaign was badly affected by panda update, I have some points for you on how you can recover. These are the following:

1. Offer fresh, useful content. As I said a while ago, you’ll never go wrong when you’re committed in giving online users nothing but the best. So, instead of talking about the same information over and over again and instead of just rehashing the articles you see online, provide fresh information each time you tap on your keyboard. Also, avoid using so many directories when marketing your articles. Choose and use only those that are still reputable in the eyes of Google.

2. Inform, don’t advertise. One of the deadly mistakes that others commit when doing article marketing is that they prioritize advertising their products over educating their readers. I know, you would want to make decent sales ASAP but this isn’t the way to go. If you put lots of blatant ads on your articles, Google might consider this as spam. As a result, your articles might not be indexed and that would mean, they will not show up on relevant search page results. You don’t want that to happen, right?

3. Combine your article marketing campaign with social media marketing. Social networking sites are now some of the favorites sites of Google and other search engines. If your articles are being talked about by so many people on say Twitter and Facebook, and if they’re being linked to by a lot of webmasters, search engines will automatically think that your content is not only good but worth the attention as well. This is the key to secure better page ranking for each of the articles that you publish in the online arena.
