Have you noticed, there are a lot of people marketing on the Internet these days? This can be considered good news and bad news. The good news – Internet usage keeps growing at an astounding rate. More and more people are finding their way to spending a little time on-line. A lot of these people are looking for ways to make some extra income. All of these things are good news for any on-line marketer. The bad news – Internet usage is at an all time high which is bringing thousands of marketers on-line each day. How do you differentiate yourself from all the other marketers on the Internet?

The first thing you have to realize when marketing on-line is people like to buy from people they trust. Sure, there is the rare exception when the product or service will sell itself but, for the most part, people like to buy from other people who seem genuinely caring. If you start with this idea and grow from there, you will have a good start.

Now, how do you differentiate yourself from the thousands of marketers on the Internet? You must develop your own style, your own persona, and your own expertise. It is all about creating your very own marketing personality. This is something only you can do. No one can do it for you. Don’t make it harder than it really is. What type of person makes your comfortable when you are shopping? Why? What is it about this person that makes your feel comfortable? Is it their age, their humor, their dress, their intelligence? Try to sit down and list some traits you find desirable in a sales person. (Yes – marketing on-line is still sales!) When you pin point some key qualities, ask yourself if any of these qualities fit you. What you will need to do, at this point, is find the qualities in yourself which can make you be remembered. Because, above all else, you want the prospect to remember you.

The next step depends on what you are marketing. For the most part, this is true with any product. Although your company may have the most fabulous website on the planet. NEVER EVER start with that website. You need to lead your prospect to the target website. How do you do this? First, Get Their ATTENTION. Use a catchy headline or catch phrase to grab their attention. Second, Give them limited facts about your product / service. Make them want to learn more. Third, Give them a Call To Action. You are now sending them to your website but they are personally choosing to go. A willing prospect is the best kind.
