What is the best way to formulate a solid marketing strategy, one that will really work and get you the results that you desire? The same basic strategy holds true for article marketing, video marketing, any form of internet marketing, and in fact pretty much for any type of marketing, period.

The most sensible place to begin is with the basics. If you can start with your WHY, your belief, your cause, you can construct a remarkable foundation upon which to build true results and success. By understanding your own WHY, you will be able to formulate your strategy to really help others.

There are many varying theories when it comes to marketing strategy. Let’s try to keep things simple, which is always a good strategy in itself. There are five basic steps to follow:

Attention
Involvement
Conviction
Desire
Call To Action! (a.k.a., The Close)

Initially you must determine who your target audience is and strategize the most effective way to reach them with your marketing efforts.

Next, HOW you do this and WHAT you communicate will depend on what type of service or product you are offering and at what price. Be aware of this from the outset in order to fine tune your marketing strategy as more expensive services and products will generally call for educating your potential consumer to help them make a viable and trusting decision. People will not spend a lot of money without getting rid of their skepticism. There are a lot of scams out there, so always be forthright, honest and ethical.

Now let’s go through the five steps in more detail to make sure there is a clear understanding of what is involved.

1) Attention means how do you get the Attention of your target audience. To get their Attention, it is important to sincerely be able to communicate you can help them solve an existing problem. In order to do this, you must be able to identify the problem that you can help solve and have prospects be able to directly relate to your material.

2) Involvement is key. Think about how to get your target audience involved, to participate in the process. If they need information, you can provide valuable (and always free) material. Tell them what to do, where to go to learn more. This step will actually get them involved in the process. For example, “Enter your name and email below to get free information or for a free consultation”.

3) Conviction translates into how can you convince them your product or service is real and that it can be real for them. This can be done with articles, video, testimonials, true stories and so on.

4) Desire. Create a desire within your audience to have what you are offering. If you can get individuals to connect with your product or service by telling them just how you can solve their problem(s) and having them say “Aha, that will help me” or “Wow, I can do that”, you can create the underlying desire necessary for a purchase. Be relatable. Be real.

5) Close To Action! Simply and clearly tell your target audience what to do in order to begin to solve their problem. For example, “Go to

to purchase the solution to your problem”, or call so and so at this number to ask any questions and to find out if this is a good choice for you.
