Before you go out and buy a lot of fancy equipment, it’s essential to know who your videos are going to be targeting. Effective online video marketing target a specific niche on the internet. Now there are thousands of different niches that you can dive into but since I’m in the MLM / Network Marketing niche I’m going to refer to that.
The first thing to understand about online video marketing is that you want to research what your target audience is looking for. This is really simple with the free Google keyword research tool that’s available online. Just type in “google keyword research tool” in the search box and it will come up. You want to search for different keywords that are related to the industry your online video marketing will be targeting. For example, one of the biggest challenges that network marketers face is finding more people to talk to. So you can do a search on “leads” in the Google search tool and find keyword terms that are related to the keyword “leads”.
Let’s say that you did that search and found the keyword “free mlm leads”. Now you have a topic to cut a video on and talk about that specific subject that is targeted to people searching for “free mlm leads”. Now that you know what you’re going to cut a video on in your online video marketing, remember three things. Lights, camera and sound.
One of the most critical components is good lighting. You can simply get a low budget light for under $100 on eBay and it will work great for online videos. In cutting videos they usually call this your front or main light and that is really all you need. You can could even go as far as using a desk lamp that you can direct the lighting. You can also get a ceiling light from your garage that uses the halogen bulbs. What every you do it really doesn’t matter. If you want good lighting in your online video marketing, the most important part is the bulb itself. You want to make sure that the bulb you are using is a day light light bulb. This changes the color of your video to look more real instead a yellowish tinge that most bulbs give off.
The second thing you need is a video camera of course. After all we are talking about online video marketing so it would help to capture the video. One of the more popular low cost videos cameras is called a Flip camera. With a flip camera you can cut a video and then put it right into your computer with the built in usb connector. Some people may even have a camera built into their computer and this works great for simple videos without a lot going on. You can also purchase an external internet camera that works basically the same way but you can move it around a lot easier.
The third thing you’ll want to incorporate into your online video marketing is a lapel microphone. You can find these for under $10 on eBay as well. I basically got my whole setup through eBay if you couldn’t already tell. Some cameras have good microphones on them but nothing beats a lapel microphone. It allows you to just talk in your normal tone and not have to raise your voice at all.
