Google Keyword Tool, Wordtracker and even Keyword Blaze are a few simple online tools to use, Google being absolutely free is the standard however. By choosing just a couple two or three keywords about your particular niche you can discover the amount of “exact” traffic your specific niche product or service sees each month online.
This step and example of finding traffic will kill two birds with one stone because not only will you see the amount of traffic, but also determine whether or not there is enough to support some type of income. Other tools will also come in handy as well such as Yahoo Answers, Google Insights and Trends as well as Google search itself and any and all Forums around the niche subject.
