The Phrase Attraction Marketing Is Used To Death These Days.

Let’s face it, it’s great article fodder. (More like article bull crap as often as not.) Some write about it like it’s some magical, mystical thing that you will have to discover the hidden secrets of in order to succeed online, and others write about it like it’s just the stuff of common sense.

So which do I say it is? I say that the way attraction marketing works to get you some targeted traffic and earn you some trust in advance is a mix of both of these things. It’s a little bit mysterious and a LOT of common sense.

Okay, so what do I mean by it’s both mysterious and based on common sense? We’ll get to that in just a second. I know that most of you already know what attraction marketing is, but I’m going to give you my shortened, off-the-cuff definition anyway.

So here’s my version:

Attraction Marketing is a marketing strategy that gives you the ability to ‘attract’ people to you who like your style and want what you have.

Sounds pretty cool right? Well it is cool! Who wouldn’t choose to have people who already have an idea of who you are and who are already interested in what you have over people that you have to chase down or ‘buy,’ and who have no clue whatsoever who you are?

Duh! Hey, paid traffic is great, IF you can afford it and IF you know how to use those paid strategies effectively. No, the time and place for paid marketing methods is AFTER you’ve used attraction marketing to establish yourself and have the money rolling in to ADD the paid marketing techniques to your repertoire.

Now don’t misunderstand me here. Adding in some Facebook or YouTube PPC or simple Solo Ads to get your attraction marketing promotions out there faster is always a good thing, especially if you’ve been taught how to do it effectively.

But here’s the thing. Everybody wants the Short Cut, the Easy Button, and they Want It Now! But there IS no easy button, there ARE no overnight riches.

Oh sure, there are ways to cut your learning curve and tools and training to make getting to the top much faster, but don’t expect to purchase one bootcamp or one report or buy one tool and then BAM! You’re an overnight success!

It ain’t gonna happen people, so just get over it already! So should you be looking for the right training and tools to get you where you want to go faster and easier? Absofloggenlutely! Of course, if you want to do it the long, hard way, have at it…no one is going to stop you. They might laugh at you or pity you for your choice, but it’s your choice.

Okay, so back to the subject at hand. I think you can already figure out why I say that a lot of the principles of attraction marketing are just good ole common sense. I mean, it only makes sense to build your reputation on the internet by:

always going the extra mile with people
by providing them with only valuable solutions and tools that they need and want
by never spamming your links in inappropriate places or trying to sell them products or services that have nothing to do with why they came to you in the first place
and by being authentically You!
That’s what people should be doing in Facebook, on Twitter, on their blogs and in forums. Unfortunately, people get those dang $$$ in their eyes, and common sense goes right out the window! I know you know what I’m talking about here. Not only is doing the opposite of attraction marketing not cool, it will keep you broke and struggling too. Also not cool!
