It is easy to get overwhelmed with the entire network marketing business strategies and campaigns. The world of online marketing constantly changes and there is practically a new application or software that one can use to do business with people. Sometimes, with the success that we achieve and the people that we meet, we tend to feel superior and too sure of ourselves that we overlook some significant facts.
Egos are particularly easy to grow in network marketing business and it does not take a lot to overstep boundaries and forget basic professionalism and integrity. Of course, you cannot simply blame people from wanting to compete since this is a highly lucrative business.
However, for our protection and for the longevity of our success, we need to be mindful of things that we should do to maintain a reputation. After all, who wants a haughty, know-it-all marketer, right?
Consider the following as things you should remember to NOT do when employing marketing strategies.
Privacy Please!
The first and highly important reminder is to always have a high regard and respect for people’s privacy. As much as we want to help our friends, fellow marketers or partners to build an easy emailing list, there is not enough reason to give them our own lists.
Always remember that the people on your emailing list or those who opted in or chose to be your followers have done so because they trust in you. They believe that you hold their privacy in high esteem. Yes, they will never know that it was you who have provided other people a copy of their emails or contact information. However, YOU WOULD KNOW.
If in the event the person on your email list requests or tells you that he or she is open to receiving newsletters from other marketers or other sites, especially from your affiliates, then that’s the time when you can probably share information with other marketers. But, until that time comes, your clients or prospects will surely appreciate your keeping their personal information private.
Connect with Purpose
The feeling of having reached a certain number of followers or contacts in your emailing list can be super great. In fact, it can induce enthusiasm that one can easily forget that you have to exert effort and time to maintain this list. Often times, when we become too busy we just create emails and send them via automaton and we are done. Unfortunately, this is almost equivalent to ignoring a person.
When it comes to marketing business, it is no longer enough to just email or send weekly newsletters. People need to be engaged with the person behind the business. We need to build relationships that go beyond customer and dealer. Remember, without the people in our contact lists and networks, we won’t get anywhere!
Keep Up the Excitement!
Finally, we should never think that we are too good to have fun or be weird at times. Our prospects like to see us as humans and as somebody they can still relate to – even if we are at a different professional level as they are. Change your content up from time to time; touch lighter subjects, even those away from business. Always keep your prospects happy and excited! Never get complacent and think that these people will gladly fall into a routine or a rut.
Engage! Engage! Engage!
Hopefully, as we grow into this network marketing business, we get to become more big hearted, down to earth and respectful of each other. If we have achieved and maintained this, then we can truly call ourselves good marketers.
