Every multi level marketing program does not have the same structure but the way they make money is all the same. i.e. when you join a multi level affiliate program, you are expected to recruit certain number of people for which you get commissions and each of those downlines under you are also expected to recruit new members thus expanding the number of people under you and also the amount of income you get.

A MLM affiliate program which gives you the freedom or choice to retire after you have reached the highest level in the structure and which guarantees a residual income for the rest of your life, is a good program to stick with. Some multi level marketing affiliate programs also come with the plan that if any one buys their products from you, they immediately become a member. This proves to be a profitable scheme as you don’t lose out on recruiting downlines and hence boosting up your chances of getting overriding commission.
A multi level marketing affiliate program which charges a monthly fee for their products and services will also provide you a recurring monthly income i.e. you get commissions for referring other people to a membership site and continue to get paid as long as that person remains a member.
The only down side of a multi level marketing affiliate program is that you get very less commission at the beginning since you will have very few downlines. So the key to earn lots of money is to have a very vast network of downlines working for you. To stay in the game, you have to think smart..
